The Design Shop @ Tile Blush

Group show curated by Fernanda Torcida, Miami, Florida, January, 2021.

Tile Blush launches 2021 with a site-specific “Retail” concept. The Design Shop will showcase contemporary art and design from our favorite collaborators. The off-site exhibition takes a critical look at gallery space as it presents a fully realized “Retail” store. Curatorial norms are upended through a critical engagement with visual merchandising strategies borrowed from classic retail models. The Design Shop opens on January 22th and runs through March 07, 2021.  This exhibition is the second of a series of Offsite Exhibitions, and it is located in the Miami Design District at 3930 NE 2nd Avenue,  Suite 100, Miami, FL 33137.

Participating Artists: Leo Castaneda, Doug Crocco, Jason Galbut, Lynne Golob Gelfman, GeoVanna Gonzalez, Jonathan Gonzalez, Aramis Gutierrez, Jeon Heesu, Kentaro Ikegami, Louie Jewelry, Aaron Jones, Yosuke Kobashi, Najja Moon,Jonathan Muecke, Jonathan Nesci, Lex Pott, Manny Prieres, Puddle Pieces, Robert Pulley, Brian Rideout, Deon Rubi, We Are Nice n’ Easy, 777 Heaven Int’l

Tile Blush was a gallery in the little Haiti district of Miami, FL. The Space was originally called Guccivuitton and run by 3 artists, Loriel Beltran, Domingo Castillo, and Aramis Gutierrez. After 4 years, and a successful show of the Guccivuitton program at the Institute of Contemporary Art, the trio disbanded and left Aramis Gutierrez as the lone director. In 2016 curator Fernanda Torcida and Miami-based designer & artist Jonathan Gonzalez joined Gutierrez. Together they relaunched the space as Tile Blush, which operated until 2021.
